Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam was the last museum I visited before Covid-19 disrupted life as we knew it. I was out and about taking photos for my photography class at the peoples college (volksuniversiteit). I brought these to class on my flash drive in a folder called ‘museum niet scherp’ which when translated means ‘museum out of focus’. I wanted to get feedback on what I did wrong and my instructor really liked them. It was nice to hear that it doesn’t always or need to be perfect to still be a good photo.
The photos are of the G/D THYSELF Spirit Strategy On Raising Free Black Children installation.
