Trompenburg Tuinen Arboretum

Trompenburg Tuinen Arboretum

The landscaped gardens invite you to forget the hustle and bustle of the city and simply feast your eyes on an explosion of colour.

A Hidden Gem

Situated in the neighbourhood of Kralingen, Honingerdijk 86 (beneden). This horticultural haven spans eight hectares and boasts approximately 4,000 kinds of plants, cacti, flowers, scrubs, and trees. The beautifully landscaped gardens allow you to escape the hustle and bustle of the city while you can feast your eyes on an explosion of colour and scents. One of the highlights is the wisteria. I refer to it as Wisteria Lane. You’ll find a path lined with a variety of shades infusing the air with their delicate scent. Once you’ve walked over the wisteria adorned bridge you can continue your walk towards the ‘Uithoek’ which is the teahouse at Trompenburg. Another favourite is the greenhouse which is filled with cacti and succulents. No visit is complete without a stroll through the greenhouse. Corona measures require entering on one side and exiting on the other. The signs are clearly displayed so there should be no confusion.
